The 1904 World’s Fair took place at the present-day Forest Park and the Washington University campus.  The Era of Industrialization focused on innovation and discovery. Transportation was revolutionized for the modern day. The private automobile made its debut and the first ever ‘Airship Contest’ introduced us to air travel.  The iconic Gateway Arch stands as a symbol of exploration. The design concept for AC Central West End showcases innovation and discovery, while telling the story of the 1904 World’s Fair and the stamp it made on the history of St. Louis.

A clean and muted palette of simple and edited materials creates an interior that is purposeful, simplistic, and elegant. Glass partitions divide the public space, while maintaining sight lines and providing a sense of openness. Executed with thoughtful detailing and honest materials, the inspired space encourages interaction, just as the fair created an opportunity for people to come together and accelerate social change.

The AC Hotel  Central  West End is a 192 key new build, 7-story hotel in the heart of the Central West End neighborhood, boarding on Forest Park.
